From a small office on Old Bekwai Road to serving 50,000+ clients across Ashanti
The Beginning
Royale Mikri opens its first office on Old Bekwai Road with just 5 staff members. The mission: provide accessible microfinance to market women and small traders who were ignored by traditional banks.
First Branch Expansion
Opens second branch in Kejetia Market, serving the heart of Kumasi's trading community. Client count reaches 5,000.
Susu Collection Launch
Introduces doorstep Susu collection service. Now market women don't need to leave their shops to save. Client count doubles to 10,000.
Ashanti Region Expansion
Opens branches in Asafo, Bantama, and Suame. Now serving 25,000 clients across the region.
Digital Transformation
Launches mobile banking and SMS services. Clients can now check balances and receive transaction alerts on their phones.
10-Year Anniversary
Celebrates 10 years of service with 40,000+ clients and 8 branches. Disburses GH¢25M+ in loans since inception.
Today
Serving 50,000+ clients with 8 branches and 120+ agents. Still committed to the same mission: finance that helps everyone.
Meet Our Founder
William K Banahene
William started his career as a banker at one of Ghana's largest banks. He saw firsthand how traditional banks were failing everyday Ghanaians – the market women, the farmers, the small business owners.
William left his banking career and started Royale Mikri with his own savings. Today, that same woman is one of his most loyal clients and has taken multiple loans to expand her business.
"Sikasɛm a ɛboa obiara" – Finance that helps everyone. This isn't just a slogan. It's the reason we exist.
